Employee Journey - Michaela Copland

Michaela Copland.jpg

I started my Stepping Stones journey in December 2015 as Administration Assistant for Carrick Money Advice Service.  Since then the workload has expanded and we have helped so many families in the area.

In April 2017, I went on maternity leave to have my second son - I missed my job so much that I returned a month earlier than planned and couldn’t wait to get back into the swing of things!

Working for Stepping Stones for Families has given me an insight into what some families have to go through and how much they need our help to get back on their feet and live happier lives with their children.

I love how much the families we help, appreciate every little thing we do for them; whether it be a food parcel, sorting any financial difficulties or just listening in general and giving them the advice they need.

It makes our jobs here feel so worthwhile and makes me feel really happy and humble that I am part of this team which makes such a difference to our community.  It is an asset to our town.

I love my job so much that when I was offered another post within a school, I turned it down as I couldn’t  bear to leave this job where I have made lifelong friends and work for the best organisation whose focus is to help in any way they can.

Thank you Stepping Stones for giving me this opportunity.  I have loved every minute of it and hope to continue this in the future!
