ORGANISATION

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

The Organisation, so far as is reasonably possible, will ensure a safe place of work with safe access and exit.

The Organisation will take into account the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and its appendices and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1997.

The Organisation will also take into account all other appropriate Regulations and Codes of Practice as they become available.

All employees, members of the public and service users entering the Organisation’s premises, or making use of its resources, are required to meet the obligations placed on them by the Act.

The Organisation will:

  • provide a safe workplace and clear systems of work
  • provide the necessary information, instruction, training and supervision

  • maintain a constant interest in Health and Safety matters
  • facilitate the assessment of risk and hazard in the use of materials or the carrying out of activities
  • report certain injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences to the enforcing authority.
  • ensure that each place of work has a Health and Safety representative

All employees are expected to:

  • take reasonable care of their own Health and Safety and that of others who may be affected by what they do or fail to do.
  • co-operate fully with the Organisation in Health and Safety matters.
  • ensure there is no interference with or misuse of anything provided for health, safety and welfare.
